Honda Civic Hybrid 101This is a featured page

If you’ve long admired hybrid cars, it may be time to consider buying one. The 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid has the sleek styling of the Civic sedan with all the benefits of going green, and all for under $30,000.

How it Works

A hybrid car uses a combination of gas and electric power. The Honda Civic has what’s called Integrated Motor Assist IMA® technology. When you stop at a light, the 1.3-liter i-VTEC® gas engine turns off, engaging a lighter electric motor until you take your foot off the brake. Drivers don’t even notice the shift from one motor to another.

The battery recharges itself, so banish the thought that you will be plugging in your Honda Civic each night.

The Hybrid uses unleaded gasoline, and gets 40 miles per gallon in the city and 45 on the highways of Utah. Most hybrids get better gas mileage in the city than they do on the highways, because they use battery power around town and gas on the highway. The Honda Civic Hybrid uses battery power to supplement the gas engine, which gets it better highway mileage.

Warranties

The Honda Civic Hybrid comes with the usual Honda warranties, which covers it for three years or 36,000 miles for its limited warranty and for five years or 60,000 miles for its limited drivetrain warranty. The battery pack comes with its own 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.

If the idea of visiting the gas pump less frequently and cutting down on pollution appeals to you, visit your Utah Honda Civic dealer to find the Hybrid that is right for you.
